As head coach Deion "Prime Time" Sanders of the electric Jackson State Tigers prepped his team for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship against the Southern Jaguars, there was news buzzing around about him possibly moving on to coach at a Power Five school. On Thursday December 1st, rumors had spread that he had received offers from both Colorado and Cincinnati.

The night before the SWAC Championship, the word spread all over social media and sports news outlets that it looked like coach Prime would be taking the head coaching position at Colorado. Saturday morning during the College Gameday show, the analysts reflected on the possibility of Deion Sanders heading to Colorado. When discussing Sanders getting the position at Colorado analyst Kirk Herbstreit expressed that the addition of the energetic and successful coach "would create a change in their brand". Despite all the buzz surrounding the coach and his future Coach Prime led his team to a 43-24 victory over the Southern University Jaguars.

After the Tigers dominating win, coach Sanders held a meeting with his team to tell them that he had accepted the head coaching job at Colorado. He and his son, star quarterback of Jackson State Shedeur Sanders, got on a plane after the game and headed to Colorado's campus. Sunday morning coach Prime and Shedeur toured the facilities at Colorado and he held a press conference expressing his excitement to take over the program.

It will be interesting to see what coach Prime can do for this Colorado program which had a disappointing season going 1-11 on the season. His arrival has already given Colorado fans so much excitement and he has already received a commitment from 5-star wide receiver Winston Watkins who is the younger cousin of Clemson great Sammy Watkins. With the success that coach Prime has had as a college coach maybe he can be the guy to get the Buffaloes rolling again.
